How do we put our knowledge to work for clients? Here’s a story. A client called, needing to launch a call center in four weeks’ time. They had a bid in hand from a major consulting firm. Was the price fair, they asked? About five minutes later, they had our answer: Nope. “Fair” would be about 55% less than the price actually quoted. The client called the bidder and countered. And the bidder said, OK. (What else could they say? We were right; their price was indefensible.) Oh – and we only charged the client for the phone time.
